Hey! I am so glad you are here.
My name is Kajal . I am a photographer based in the Metrowest/Greater Boston area of Massachusetts.
I grew up in a large family and was introduced to photography at a young age by my uncle. He would take me and my brothers on vacations to these places of exquisite natural or cultural beauty. He would meticulously refine our poses, till the lighting, the colors, the shapes and the textures were just right, and the fleeting mischief in our faces just about captured our youthful spirits, before we heard the shutter click on his 35mm Konica SLR. It was not until I started experimenting with my DSLR and saw how the magic of moments in all their enormity condensed into my tiny viewfinder, that I feel as if a veil were lifted and myriad perspectives on reality opened up to me that I never before knew existed.
Since embracing motherhood eight years ago, nothing has given me more joy than my attempts to capture the innocence of my child, the quiet wonder in his eyes, and his tiny joy at accomplishments that we adults have long forgotten. Photography has been my attempt at softening the sting of the unrelenting arrow of time.
What I offer:
Photos
My heart has always been with telling YOUR story. I value relationship and connection over perfection. I strive to capture images that are full of emotion because that’s what it is all about: creating a memory together with those you love. Whether it's through a newborn session, through a family lifestyle shoot or the beautiful love between couples, I am always looking for the tiny outstretched arms, silly smiles, unexpected cuddles and those heartfelt glances.
Films
What started as a hobby has grown into a passion for filming people in their environment. You know that the days and years will go by in a heartbeat and that you might be so overwhelmed with emotion to remember the tiny details of your here-and-now, laughing together, feeling the first bursts of emotions and all the quiet pauses in-between. You want to capture all of the energy of the day or an occasion and be able to re-live it on video. You probably won’t watch the film every day, but you know that in 20 years, it might be one of the most valuable films that you have ever seen.
In my desire to capture for people a moment in their lives as they would wish to remember it, the separation between me and them dwindles. Everyone expresses love in their own way. Taking pictures and making films is mine.
I hope to connect with you and looking forward to getting to know you and those you love.
